Doris Does Ullswater

It takes me ages to write a blog post, which is why they are so infrequent and the draft posts list for this blog is so long. I dabbled with video on the Loch Lomond Adventure and decided to give it another go. This may not be exciting I’m afraid, but let me know what you think.
To make it more interesting count how many times I say “fantastic” and thought about adding Vic Reeves- Dizzy at one point but decided against it.
The boat was named Doris by John at Shed Dweller Moments, because I said I would need to mug some old grannies to afford it. He said it should be named Doris in memory of all the grannies who fell for me to buy her (I didn’t mug anyone).

Fantastic!
She’s a beaut, looking forward to a proper christening on the Clyde in a few weeks.
Camera looks great too – really rich colours.
Looks better still if stupid Microsoft Live Video Maker hadn’t put black bars around it all. Think its due putting the picture at the beginning.
Will use a better program in future…
I wouldn’t use the phrase ‘blow up Doris’ to offend, peeps may get the wrong idea
Boat looks nice, how long did it take to inflate?
It was lovely to see her in all her glory. Can you really get two people in her? The video was great, it gave a good sense of the adventure and it made me laugh as well, in a good way you understand. Do more of those, I may try a few videos too. What camera did you use?
George: Dolly the sheep was hidden off camera
John: Yeah 2 people can get in it OK, I’ve never tried but I was more or less laid down. I think it would be better using the paddle in canoe mode (one each) if 2 people.
The camera is my regular photo camera (Panasonic DMC-ZX1).
Loved it!
I’ve had 2 tall people plus a couple of drybags in one before, see http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/philcturner/Canoe# .
I was almost laid down and was still some space behind and in front. Think it may be better with Canoe paddles if 2 people, which mine convert to.
