First run in months

Today I went for my first run in months on my lunch break. I struggled, which isn’t surprising considering how long its been and the enforced recent lack of exercise due to my feet. This probably wont be a regular posting on the website, but thought I’d checkout how Garmin Connect looks embeded in a website which is below. You can use this for walking, cycling, running, etc…
If you really want to keep track of me, you could click view details and from there follow my progress if any at all. Oh and you could check out how my heart rate is, if I’d left it tracking you would of seen it spike to 238bpm a few minutes after the run finished.

Have you tried this with the new Google Earth?
Yes I tested importing it from the Garmin Forerunner to Google Earth which worked. It would be nice if Google Earth free version allowed you to record a video of the route playing. You can play it as a tour if someone else has Google Earth and the file is shared.
Didn’t mess around with it for long though.
The 238 spike is a little concerning. My heart rate monitor once read 220, which, at an age in excess of 50, meant I was dead. I took my pulse manually and found that it was actually 120 but very uneven, varying in frequency and power. In other words I had heart palpitations brought on by the curse of cyclists, hunger knock aggravated by dehydration. The palpitations disappeared after a good meal and an excellent night’s sleep so I did not bother the doctor. If you see a spike over 200 again, try feeling your pulse just to check there isn’t a medical issue. Also check if there is any interference with the monitor. I know one corner where a heart rate monitor usually says something daft.
I hope you are properly over your foot trouble. I had been worrying a little for you. That’s the power of blogging with video.
Best wishes.
I have a heart problem, found out 3 years ago when on holiday in Canada. Got taken by paramedics in an ambulance to hospital. Then spent 2 days in the coronary care unit before I checked myself out against doctors advice and carried on with my holiday.
It’s not as bad as that makes it sound, basically I have an extra pathway in my heart which causes the electrical signal that tells your heart to beat to go in a loop. Making it beat faster, not about to keal over and die (alledgedly).
Through a bit of self exploration I’ve noticed it happens when I stop some sort of intense exercise like running abruptly. A minute or so after stopping exercising as heart rate is lowering I will feel a strange feeling in my heart and suddenly jumps to 238 or something like that and I will feel slightly dizzy. This normally happens for a few seconds before it’s back to normal. On a rare occassion it gets stuck and beats faster for longer (3+ hours in Canada).
This reply has got very long so will shut up!
Is that what Tony Blair had? You aren’t feeling any hostility towards the Middle East are you?
Yeah think Tony Blair had it, he had an operation to fix it. Supraventricular Tachycardia or something like that.
